Just letting everyone know that my mother died yesterday. She was 90 and had been ailing for quite a while

but it is still such a shock. Have been to sort out funeral and flowers today. I'm feeling very fragile and upset at the moment. Me and my sisters had organised shifts so she would never be on her own (she was in a care home) and she died on my shift.

oh Bev, I am sorry to hear that your Mum has died.

no matter how old or ill a loved one is, it is still a shock, Mums are special and a huge loss.

Be sure to look after yourself and know that we are thinking of you.

go with how you are feeling and don't let anyone tell you how to mourn.

can you share her name with us so I can say a prayer? [maybe in a pm].

regards,

sandra.

Thank you Sandra - her name was Margaret but she was always known as Peggy.

I would pray if I was religious.

I said a prayer for Peggy, and am sending you a virtual hug.

My friend said she doesn't believe in a God - but, if she gets to heaven, hopes God believes in her!

I go along with everything Sandra has said. We are thinking of you and praying for you.

Although in a way it is good that your mother is no longer suffering, it is still a great loss to you. I;m glad your sisters are around to help, but each of you will grieve in your own way.

Do take care of yourself.

HI there,

I am really sorry about the death of your Mother, she lived to be a great age, and I am sure you were very good to her. Grief is always hard but I guess death especially at 90 is inevitable. But its still hard no matter what age we never want to let them go.

I lost my Partner Jim four years ago, and I still miss him, I use this this writing to get to thinking of him when I am sad. Hope you like it.

When somebody dies, a cloud turns into

an a?ngel, and flies up to tell God

to put another flower on a pillow.

A bird gives the message back to

the world, and sings a silent prayer

that makes the rain cry. People dis-

appear, but they never really go away.

The spirits up there put the sun to

bed, wake up grass, and spin the

earth in dizzy circles. Sometimes you

can see them dancing in a cloud during

   the day-time, when they're supposed

to be sleeping. They paint the rain-

bows and also the sunsets and make

waves splash and tug at the tide.

They toss shooting stars and listen to

wishes. And when they sing wind-

songs, they whisper to us, don't

miss me too much. The view is nice

   and I'm doing just fine.

I love this and I hope you will find some comfort n it.

May she rest in peace, and may God give you the strength, to get through this too.

love Hannah

Many thanks all of you for your lovely remarks. It makes me feel better. The funeral was last Friday and I was dreading it. But it was a nice service and my Manchester cousins and their families came even though it was a 5 hour drive. I do feel relieved now its all over. I did most of my greiving when she was still alive. I am an orphan now.

So sorry all of you who have lost parents. I lost my dad 4 and a half years as well. Its awful isn't it? I hate death!

Very belated hugs to you. I lost my 89 year old mum in January. We were with her when she went which though hard is some comfort now, knowing she was not alone.
