Hi, I am the same. Taking it one day at a time. I end each day with listing at least 3 things I am grateful for in the day. I am thinking that I need to do the same in the morning. I try to play up beat music and when things get tough I repeat my mantra to myself which is "Don't be so hard on yourself". When I need to I play that song by Jess Glynn and I also play fight song by Rachel Platten. I have a range of quotes that I use and songs that I play.

For health I have changed my diet to cut out as much processed foods and refined sugar as possible. Not doing so good on that front as I've had a bad couple of weeks and been doing a little unhealthily on the shopping front. I am trying to remind myself it is just a slip and I can improve again rather than go all negative on myself like I was last year. :-D

I keep a journal as well so I can look back and see what progress I have made.

What are you doing to stay happy and healthy?

Well I was a 13 year smoker and I quit I am trying to loose weight and eat healthier but its kinda hard when you have several picky eaters in the house. As for the happy part I am content for now, just a lot of stresses that are gonna take time to go away.

I know my Mum struggled to loose the weight after stopping. You will get there and I know what you mean about picky eaters my sisters were like that growing up and my niece is worse. One year my Mum made 5 different main courses for Christmas dinner to please everyone. I told her she was made. There are lots of good recipes on the internet if you have the time to look for them. I tried and no cream low fat chocolate mouse out on my sister and she loved it and she is fussy. :-D

If you need to talk or are looking for suggestions let me know. I'm on a budget because I am not working at the moment so I am always looking for money saving tips and ideas on how to reduce stress and feel happy. :-D

I smoked for 64 years and it took a dose of chemotherapy for me to give it up. The chemo. nearly killed me and now even though its VERY hard I haven't had a cigarette for 3 or 4 months. I have lost a lot of weight and will be pleased to put some back on. All my clothes hang on me.

I am happy to be out of hospital, happy to be in control of my own life and happy that I have had the strength to stand up to the National Health and say no more. Lost confidence in hospitals and doctors. They can make mistakes and if it wasn't for us wouldn't have a job. So yes at 78 years of age I am a happy woman.

Thanks I am trying hard to have a laugh at the national health and what it has done to me. I will fight this overdose of chemo to the end.
