bloody mucus/headaches

I'm taking 12-mgs of warfarin for antiphospholipid syndrome. I've been getting frequent headaches and coughing of chunks of bloody mucus. My doctor is not so concerned. The headaches can be quite painful. Could the headaches be related to the warfarin or clot-related

Yes headache can be clot related. Especially with APS, it could be a sign of impending stroke. Be very careful, If it continues go to emergency department and it should be sooner than later! Good luck

Thank you. I've emailed my doctor and am waiting to hear back.

Take a look at the Hughes web site as well people with Antiphopholipid syndrome usually have to have an INR between 3 to 4 .

I am not a doctor I would go to a hospital as soon as possible if it were me, you shouldn't be having symptoms like that

Wishing you well

So... what did you find out?

The headaches subsided as did the blood. The doctor said it could have been "sinusitis." I live in a tropical environment. We'll have to keep monitoring it. My warfarin needs to be constantly adjusted

The headaches were quite painful. I had to lay down each time they came one. There wasn't any dizziness or shortness of breath or other indicators that a clot had formed.
