If I was you I would probably see your Doctor and see if he/ she can reassure you

Hope it gets better soon, guess you are still on Warfarin or something similar

Hi Barbie13, have you talked to your doctor? First check all is well, then ask for help with the anxiety. Many practices have therapists that you can talk to and that can be very helpful, having a safe place to share your fears. Another thing you might try is learning some simple breathing techniques which can be very calming. I use an Internet site called Calm - there are others - which offers guided meditation, it's something you can turn to for a little island of peace in the midst of all the chaos that goes on in our heads! Hope it gets better for you soon x

I've been in & out of hospital & they think it's anixity as I've been hyper ventilating it's just worse some days , I wake up scared it gets worse I panic it's another pe then the pain gets worse it's better when I'm calm I'm so hyper sensitive I wonder if I'll ever feel ok again 😞 It's been 7 weeks now ! I'm trying to breathe it just takes over me, I'm waiting for counselling , thank you x

I had very large PE 2 years ago. Been on rivaroxaban since. I am fine now but like you I had many, many anxiety issues/attacks for some time after. Went to hospital on various occasions - all false alarms. Assume you are on anti-coagulant. Go to A&E to get checked up if ever you are so worried, may relieve your stress levels and it's sensible to do so. Blood tests will quickly show if any issue.

However, I would tackle that anxiety of yours. Try meditation, e.g. breathing exercises, concentrate on the breathing in and out. Youtube has loads of good meditation (e.g. Jason Stephenson, TheHonestGuys), there's loads of good apps too, e.g. Headspace. You need to be in the here and now, rather than your mind stuck on what has happened and what may happen which will be fuelled by your fears. Remember you're taking anti-coags, you're safe and live your life.

Take care,

Paul

Thank you Paul you brought me to tears , no one I know understands , I've been back today had a ct scan not all of the dye went in so wasn't as bright as it could be but the doctor promised me the clots have gone ! I still doubt everyone , d diner negiitive but I am on rivoxaban , I've had a swelling in my groin they want to scan tomorrow but said it may be nothing or a small clot resolving , my chest still hurts but must be anixty , it's hard to stop the what ifs isn't it? I've had such bad panic attacks feel I've I could pass out ! Will look into the things you suggest,

Once again thank you for your kind response ,

You're welcome. All the best to you. Good to hear you're on rivaroxaban. Better than warfarin - was on that for an age. Such a hassle with normal daily living. Ddimer negative - great to hear. You're ok.

Panic attacks - yes they can bad. I once had literally 3 ambulances turn up within 8 minutes. To be told I was having an anxiety attack was a bit embarrassing. But funny when looking at it now.

When breathing in/out meditating - try literally saying to yourself internally 'breathing in' / 'breathing out'. Will help the brain settle and should help to reduce those 'what if' thoughts.

Hope the groin scan was all ok.

Take care,

Paul

I'm so hoping I will also one day look back & laugh at the awful panic! I just so want to be well again & my body just hurts my legs ache my chest feels bruised!

I will try the breathing technique I am trying to do the in for four hold for seven out for eight ! Seems to help a little , groin scan was fine but my veins below my knee can't be seen, but said if it's working on my lungs will be working all over , thanks again for your kind words
