Hi does anyone know how this would be diagnosed? What tests would be done? Or has anyone experienced this? Many thanks

I think I had a DVT in my pelvis following a back injury, which then became a pulmonary embolism. It was discovered by accident when I collapsed in hospital whilst being investigated for something quite different.

I had a d dimer blood test which was positive, and started on anti-coagulants. However, the definitive diagnosis was a lung scan which I had a few days later.

I am still on anti-coagulants as the reason for my blood clot was never finally confirmed (so it is considered 'unprovoked'), but I do think it was probably due to my injured pelvis.

I've had three dvt in my right groin leg

A D dimer blood test shows if you have a blood clot if the reading is below 230 there's no sign of a clot my last d dimer test was 2, 514.

I had an ultrasound scan too.
