Would it be wise to take a 96 year old to be off Coumadin because he has hypo static hypotension?

Dougwilla.

Definitely one to put to your GP before stopping or reducing the dose even of the Coumadin.

Do you mean orthostatic hypotension.(probably spelt wrong again) but in any case I would guess that stopping taking Coumadin would make the problem worse as that would make the blood more "sticky" more hard work for the heart to pump and so slower in allowing the patient to get going. But yes you miust consult a doctor. I am only guessing.

Coumadin/Warfarin doesn't make blood more sticky! It has no impact on its fluidity just its'clotability'.

But in any event you need to talk to the doctor in charge.
