Yeh I always find they sound really muffles like distant for a short while then I hear them closer and I can snap out of it that's what's happened to me before don't know if it's the same

Its when our minds are in a restful state otherwise we would go into overload which is not good. Not only do we have to rest our bodies when we sleep we also have to relax the mind. Meditation helps a great deal. And for those on a spiritual path we are tuning in to the universe getting ready to speak to the Angels who help us throughout our life.
