I developed Tachycardia, Chest Pain, Shortness of Breath, & Orthostatic Intolerance.

Common heart problems in Behcet's patients are: Mitral Valve Prolapse, Pericarditis, Heart Attack, Asymmetrical Sepal Hypertrophy, a Left Ventricular Aneurysm, Abnormal Heart Rhythms, and Silent Myocardial Ischemia. Orthostatic Intolerance is also common.

Thanks for the reply! I have had heart issues pretty much my whole life but nothing super serious but the older I get the worse the issues are getting. I have only had one outbreak of Behcet's it was the first and only one when I was 15 years old, I will be 30 on Sunday. I did read somewhere that even if you dont have external outbreak symptoms this disease can still be affecting you internally such as the heart. Do you know anything about this?

Yeah it's possible. The best thing to do would be to ask either your Rheumatologist or Cardiologist. Do they know a lot about Behcet's? A lot of doctors don't because it's so rare.

The dr that diagnosed me at 15 has long since retired and I havent even discussed it with any other dr's that I have. I have a General practitioner and they only specilists I see are a Cardiologist and an Orthopedic Surgeon

Okay, well ask your Cardiologist. And try to find a Rheumatologist. They're the ones that usually oversee your Behcet's.

I have had pericariditis, mitral valve prolapse, and heart attack. Wherever I have a flair my heart is affected. I usually have too low of blood pressure and occasionally high blood pressure during a flair which usually put me in the hospital. The flairs are hard on my heart.
