Hi everyone, my relative is coming from overseas to UK for holidays, and I need to book an appointment for dialysis, does anyone know how I should proceed? And also I found a website dialysis freedom which tries to help patient finding slots for dialysis however there r charges to pay, so I don't know if they r genuine.

Hi! You can phone your local renal unit and see if they have holiday spaces (you can find the name of the local renal unit online). If they don't have any space use Freedom. They are excellent and really helpful and very knowledgeable. Give them a ring and they will give you info over the phone. They can sort everything out for you and they are totally reliable. If your relative is coming from the US he or she will have to pay for each dialysis session and they are not cheap. Hopefully her or his insurance will cover it. Each unit charges a different amount - up to about £375 per session
