I have had tinnitus for 12 years ,think mine was caused by high doses of intravenus antbiotics after an infection.have managed to cope fairly well for the last 10 to 11 y ear s but recently have had a lot of flare ups, had wax temoved from my ear after i had an earinfetion due to water ingress after swimming on holiday. Since then my tinnitus has really flared up for about 3 weeks really feeling down at the moment .someone said it could be my ears adjusting to everyday noise after the wax removal has anyone else experienced this .need some reasurance thanks.

Hello and welcome to the British Tinnitus Association forum.
It is quite common to experience tinnitus after ear wax removal, as the brain adjusts to the new sound levels. If you've had an infection as well, that could also still be causing a greater awareness of the sound
