Hi, I'm 15 and I've had tinnitus for quite some time now. It just suddenly showed up while I was studying and it hasn't gone away since.
It isn't as bad as the stories I've heard of some people on here, but it's enough to annoy me while studying so I can't concentrate and irritate me as I try to fall asleep.
I usually don't hear it when I'm outside, because of all the background noise. But when I'm at home, it gets pretty loud at times. It's almost a burden to be at home and I hate it.
Does anyone have some suggestions on how to get the volume to lower a bit? I've got exams coming up and I don't want this to distract me.
Thank you

Hi Grace, It’s possible your T might be due to worrying about the exams but it might be a good idea to tell your GP just to eliminate any other fears.
I’m a firm believer that stress is the biggest cause of T however so long as you are following the life you really want, the mind and body is happier. If you are enjoying the subject material then that might act as a useful distraction from the T.
Hello and welcome to the British Tinnitus Association forum. Do feel free to ask any questions, I hope that you find this a helpful and supportive place to help you manage your tinnitus. I'm sorry I wasn't around sooner to say hello, but I've been away on leave.
