I’ve got to say that is pretty poor. Ok, so most people just get on with dealing with it, but even so.
I think one of the problems is that it is seen just as one of many symptoms of the bigger category of hearing loss.
The latest symptom I heard on the radio from some ‘professional’ (who happens to run a private hearing aid business) is that people with hearing loss have a diminished cognitive function...sorry..I digress...
That is poor, thing about it is people think and professionals think if you have tinnitus you have hearing loss, which isn't true.i got tinnitus out of no were and no hearing loss or loud noise exposure.
Very true Michael professionals tell all that loud noise music and loud noises at work course T well maybe it does. But music has never been my cup of tea and I’ve never worked in noisy places. My T came from nowhere. Cheers
Yes I don't know were mine came out off, people say diet. I don't smoke, drink or take salt and went to gjm three times a week and this just came on me.i went to ent and a private clinic and both says no hearing loss.had a mri scan there on Sunday, so maybe it will show something.only thing I can say might have caused mine is ear wax, as I slept with ear plugs for 10 years and now ears are very sensitive, that's only reason I can think I got hyperacusis
We're working on making our online resources more widely known - I'm in touch with NHS Digital. This online resources is a specific project of there's, there is tinnitus information on NHS Choices, and of course our own website and Take on Tinnitus
Best wishes
