Mantra when tinnitus strikes?

Can anyone share with me what they say to themselves when their tinnitus gets too intrusive? Am searching for the right words to keep my brain from feeling threatened. Thanks.

Hi

What I normally say is keep being positive my Tinnitus has been really intrusive the last two weeks causing headaches and feeling fuzzy but life goes on just tell it to go away do the things you enjoy and push it into the background

Good Health

Marcus.

Am new to this and finding it SO hard to just tell it go to away. If only! Guess it's a skill you learn, right? Thanks for your reply.

Yes it takes time I've had mine about 9 years and like you it was bad but I found it does calm down I think anxiety doesn't help the more you worry the worse it seems so you get stuck in this circle and you have to break that but it does take patients if you are like me nighttimes are worse I normally have a fan on or play an APP which helps a quiet room is always bad for Tinnitus during the day I try and get on with things so my brain isn't concentrating on my Tinnitus eventually your brain will push the noise into the background it does take time but I'm sure you can achieve these goals there will be good and bad days but you will find there will be more good.

wish you well and some peace

Marcus.

I find the best approach is to try and just ignore it and not even think about it, try and think about something completely different or nothing at all, this approach does take time to work but most days now I just ignore it, and focus on something nice like a favourite piece of music.

hi I find it s hard to accept but don't fight it you wont win all you do is get depressed and anxious it s life now for you just when it get s you down let it when it don't plod on I say it as it is I get depressed and I just think well this is it so go with the flow every tinnitus is different and affect s us all different if you find a way that might work for you it s something you might find your self , a support group is good because you not on your own , I hope you find a way of coping john

There's no magic bullet in the shape of words but I use " I,am " because it is a powerful guide for the subconscious mind. For example, " My Tinnitus is loud but I'AM strong and I'AM able to carry on as normal. I'AM is a powerful command for the mind. I have used this many times not just for Tinnitus but to overcome extreme tiredness when driving long distances in the Scottish Highlands to find a hotel or bed and breakfast. It makes me more alert and aware of my situation. Now, if I were to simply use " I no longer FEAR my Tinnitus as a command it wouldn't work as it has no symbolic value to the subconscious. Furthermore, such a command would make me more fearful because of the negative use of the word FEAR.

Be careful using I'AM for stuff like wanting to win the lottery : It wont work because it is based upon the lack of something material. The lack of something MONEY. Millions of people say a prayer to win not realising their prayers are based on the LACK --I need. I want to win the lottery ! A more forceful command would be to convince yourself " you are rich already" as this sends the thought OUT THERE. " I AM RICH ALREADY for example would be more powerful and if thought with conviction could work.

We have to be careful what we think for example " I AM not good enough is a command for our subconscious to be NOT GOOD ENOUGH...And this will be delivered on request.

For you I'd advise positive thoughts and words. I AM STRONGER THAN THIS. I AM overcoming my Tinnitus and soon I will not even notice it is there.

Best of luck I hope this helps.

Hi,

I discovered a few months ago that I could transform my tinntinus into a mantra, and lose my negative judgement about it.

I am not alone in that experience. You can find an outstanding account here:
