Just after seeing the Polecat

Hopefully you will have read my post about putting good stuff in the memory bank to enjoy when looking back. Whist looking at the Polecat I completely forgot about the T. It was the living in the moment. I cycled for a short time still transfixed by the sighting of the Polecat.

I gave my son helpful advice about missing the tree roots. I was recanting examples of "living life in the rear view mirror" when I hit a tree. I fell off, rolled down a bank into a pile of nettles. The photo is off my arm covered in nettle stings. My back is also covered but could not do a selfie of that.

You will be interested to know that during this experience I completely forgot about my tinnitus. I am not suggesting that you take this as a cure or indeed an example of relief.

I did manage to laugh about this as I saw the funny side. This time last year I would have wallowed in pity and used it to support my feelings that the world was against me.

Me and my son can both put this in our memory bank!!

In no way do I wish to trivialise T as I know all to well the devastation that it does to people's lives. Hopefully through this forum we can share lighter moments.

Hi Adeosoba. What a great story and thank you for sharing it. I'm a cyclist too (touring) and I've flown over the handlebars a fair few times but not whilst seeing a fab polecat!

I too can get lost in moments where I am unaware of it but then there are other days when even work is not a distraction.

Here's to more magical days like yours...but obviously without the nettle rash!

Oh no - I once fell face first off a stile into a massive clump of nettles - the next 36 hours were the most painful I've ever experienced! Hope you are okay now!

Thank you for sharing these magical moments despite the nettle stings. I too like to cycle but haven't for a while as bikes out of action, but now they have been serviced looking forward to getting back in the saddle . Have also had some funny situations especially whilst trying to tandem :) :)
