Count down to the house move

Have got one week to go before moving day. Just hoping my T doesn't get any worse than normal but guess with lots to think about, it will distract me enough to not think about it so much. Hope everyone is ok and enjoys the weekend. Love Lesley xxx

Yay Lesley, I'm glad to hear you're finally on the move, I remember how stressed you were a couple of months ago. Did you manage to get that different masker, if so I hope it helped?

Best Wishes

Xene

Hi Lesley, yes I would agree with Bee that you won't notice the T. Hope you're ok, mine is more noticeable this week for no other reason that it chooses to be! I am going to the theatre tomorrow for the first time since T appeared (used to go at least once a month as ballet, plays, poetry were/are my interests - never liked loud rock music ha ha !) Going to see The Verdict. Hopefully I will gain confidence to go more often.

Hope you can relax a little too this weekend, the weather is rather chilly up here in Shropshire. Love and best wishes, Angela xx

Hi Angela,

I've just had two good days with T being much quieter but today its back to normal. But have done a lot of moving garden equipment so maybe that's why it was better as more distracted. Having a more relaxing day today as rest of week is going to be hectic. Haven't slept very well for last two nights either as keep waking up between 3 and 4 am, then not going back to sleep, so am feeling tired. Will be glad when Friday comes and we can finally move and put the stress of whether we were or were not going to buy this house behind us and start looking forward.

I hope you have a lovely time at the theatre, glad you're taking the plunge as it would be a shame to miss out on what you enjoy doing, let me know how you get on.

Love Lesley xxx

Hi Lesley, thinking of you and hope the packing is going to plan. As it is just 10 minutes away you can go back if you forget anything.

We had a lovely evening at the theatre and my T was silent for hours. Bliss! We went to Ellesmere, north Shropshire - I hadn't been for almost 30 years. It was nice to see the lake and canal again, but it was far busier than I had remembered. There are so many beautiful places in Shropshire to see.

All the best for Friday and good luck in your new home. Love. Angela xx

Hi Lesley,

Take a few minutes at a time throughout each day to relax and focus on deep breathing and take a step back to adjust mentally as it can be stressful moving and I'm sure you will be fine.

New beginnings.

Love glynis

Hi Lesley,

I wish you the best of luck with your move and hope your new location is somewhere really nice! I moved from London to Brighton 2.5 years ago and know how stressful moving day can be. Strangely, my tinnitus didn't bother me in the slightest and I've got the feeling it won't bother you either. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that all goes well.

Take care

Michael

We're only moving 10mins away from where we live now due to landlord selling but once at New place going to be looking at buying a house somewhere in portsmouth at the grand old age of 52! Though would like to be out of the city but i dont drive so that limits how far we can go. Have lots to pack up but all my garden equipment has been moved so that's taken some of the pressure off.

I used to live in bexhill on sea so not far from Brighton, used to go clubbing occasionally and loved the lanes. Must visit again one day. T has been a bit better last few weeks and not using hearing aide at the moment as that seems to make it worse. Just using white noise app on my phone when needing distraction. Will be glad when move is all done n dusted though.

Thanks for the good luck wishe's.

Lesley

I haven't been to Bexhill yet but sure I'll get around to it. I'm still finding my way around Brighton and the surrounding towns Lesley and liking it a lot. Born and bred in London and love it but don't want to move back. I live in Patcham, just 2.5 miles from the seafront 15mins by car. The views where I live are quite nice.

I have always liked Brighton but never thought I'd move here. I am a believer in fate and one's destiny. When my tinnitus increased to insurmountable levels back in 2008, I was unable to read a book for two years because of the distress I was in for most of the time. In 2010 after completing 2 years of TRT treatment for the 2nd time in 11 years, I decided to try and get back into reading. It was a very difficult task. Each book I tried to read within two days I put it down as my tinnitus just wouldn't allow me to continue.

I ordered a book by an author I'd never heard of called Peter James, crime and thriller writer. You may have heard of him as he was born in Brighton. The moment I began reading his work I became hooked by his writing and the way he described Brighton. It were as if I were there in the action watching the story unfold before me. Strange. Although it took me 3 weeks to read Dead Simple, the first in the Roy Grace series about a detective solving crimes in the city I thoroughly enjoyed it. I continued reading the RG series and decided to do something that I hadn't done before, which was to write to an author.

I emailed him just to say how much I liked his work and briefly mentioned my tinnitus and the difficulty I had getting back into reading. He replied and this led to more correspondence whenever a new Roy Grace book was published. Eventually, I drove to Brighton to attend his book signings and starting taking more interest in the city.

In 2013 I emailed Peter James and asked for advice for some nice areas to live in Brighton and hoped he wouldn't mind. He replied saying he had never been asked such a question but found his suggestions very helpful and the rest is history as they say.

His new book: Need you dead, will be published next month and I'll be in line for a signed copy. Glynis, my good friend, also likes the Roy Grace series.

It's never too late to learn to drive and it'll give you so much independence and open up a whole new world for you. I passed my test at 27 after years of never been interested to drive but glad I did. I'm a little older than you and wouldn't want to be without a car now. Hope everything goes well for you on moving day.

All the best

Michael

Hi Dave, afraid all the chocolate biscuits got eaten☺ but all went smoothly...well the move did however Im now minus a bed and wardrobe as had accidents trying to put them back together. Sleeping on a mattress isn't so bad but will be looking for a new frame asap. It was organised chaos at first but we now have most things where they should be. Just don't want to see another cardboard box for awhile.

Next step is to begin looking for a house to buy

T has been very tolerable so far so am pleased with this. Hope you've have had and are having a reasonable bank holiday though typically the weather is rubbish. Take care Lesley x

Hi Lesley

Pleased everything went well, it's always a nightmare moving but its all behind you now for the moment anyway.

Had a busy weekend putting up the last few remaining fence panels (11 in total ) at the bottom of the garden so not much free time but still, it's smartened up the garden nicely, glad to here the T was tolerable for you, it's always a bonus when that happens. Hope you had some me time over the weekend before starting work.

Take care

Hi Bee, it is a play 😀 so there will be no amplified surround sound. And the seats are away from the speakers. Good to hear you are braving more noise. Love Angela xx

Good luck with the move. Exciting times and proof that we can still live our lives with T. I always find that I can deal with it better when I'm busy. LLx

Hope the move goes good x
