A free week trial for digital hearing aids...

My hearing has been damaged because know one taught me to protect my hearing until I figured it out in my late twenties. I've had mild T for many years. Two days into the hearing aid trial my T exploded. Now it varies from congestion, sleeping, eye movement and jaw clenching. I've heard as many as 5 times in one ear and a different in the other. I'm trying the brain retraining guided by a well recommended doc. I can't report much improvement. It might take 18 months to improve...

Hi AnswerThePhone. I am sorry to hear that and really hope things improve for you. get good and bad days but I can't identify a reason for one day being better or worse. Hope the brain retraining works. LLx

It can take about 3 months for the brain to adapt to using hearing aids - basically it's reorganising itself and the neural pathways. You may want to check out some of the tips on takeontinnitus.org.uk for help in this period.
