"“You know that place between sleep and awake, that place where you still remember dreaming? ”
― J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan - did J.M. Barrie have tinnitus?.
I'm always looking for references of famous people with T as I am keen to know how they cope. It was when I was first diagnosed I wanted to read everything on the subject and find out who else had it - so I wasn't alone.
When I read the famous lines from Peter Pan it made me think - "that place between sleep and awake, that place where you still remember dreaming" - as this is the ONLY time that I don't register my T. Its when we are barely conscious but we know we are awake - the brain hasn't fully switched on yet. If I could bottle that time and carry it with me I would be back to my old self again.
Did JM Barrie have T ?. Maybe this was the only safe place for him too. An interesting debate as he certainly sums it up for me so succinctly.
Stay strong (between sleep and awake)
