pain in right ear ?

Anyone experiencing pain coming from inside the ear or ears ? I've got pain in right ear and I think it could be an infection but it might be related to my hyperacusis or T. noise ? I'm going for scan in 2 weeks .

Hi Blaze,

I would pop in see your doctor before the weekend if possible so he/she can check for infection or fluid behind your ear drum or wax.

Pressure pain can alo be a problem if your eustation tubes are blocked.

Many thanks for your input, I was not aware that it was possible for a doctor to check for fluid or infection behind the ear drum or wax. I'll take your advice and phone for my doctor. The problem is preventing me from sleeping as I tend to sleep on my right side. I do feel pressure in both my ears so fluid might be in there. I went to ENT a few weeks back and the doctor reminded me of an East German border guard...utterly hopeless and I got the impression he begrudged sending me for a scan due 21st March. All in all, I was in and out of his surgery in 15 minutes !

There shouldn't be pain with tinnitus or hyperacusis (okay, noise can cause pain with hyperacusis, but I don't think you're talking about that). I'd get it checked out with your doctor - you could be right in thinking it's an ear infection.
