Breast lump

I am post menopause and have been taking HRT for 20years due to severe hot flushes! 6 months ago I felt a pea sized lump behind my nipple didn't worry too much then the lump started to get bigger. Went to GP who fast tracked me to Breast clinic with suspected Cancerous lump. I had my appointment yesterday, consultant could feel lump, he said I had dense breast? Had mammogram, ultrasound radiologist confirmed that there was a lump ! But breast too dense to identify. She would speak to a colleague for a second opinion and possible biopsy in 2 days time. I am so concerned as my sister died from Pancreatic Cancer after being misdiagnosed for 10months! Has anyone experience of my situation, I am so worried.

I understand your concern..

In 2014..I found a lump. It was a hot day, so I’d showered twice.

I couldn’t miss noticing the lump, it was large and firm…but it was only detectable after the 2nd shower later that day…I was stunned to say the least.

I was fast tracked, and had a mammogram and biopsy at the first appointment. This led to successful treatment.

🤔 A biopsy would give you peace of mind..I was told results immediately at the first appointment.

🤔 My mother..had found a lump behind her nipple..it was diagnosed as a blocked milk duct..

Thank you for your reply, I am concerned because the Radiologist was unsure due to the density of my breast. I pray they do a biopsy and not just say its all OK and send me home.

You can insist on a biopsy. I would be very surprised if a biopsy was not ordered given the radiologists uncertainty. I was in your situation and had a biopsy in under a week. All clear fortunately.
