This question got swallowed up in my last reply to a post:
Final question regarding Gabapentin, I am taking it during the day as I get RLS symptoms then, should I take all 5 capsules at night now instead of the 2 I take in the day? I already take 300mg, how much can I increase it by and to what?
i can manage on 1 capsule in the morning and one at lunchtime. As I also take ropinirole so then I can start my reduction of ropinirole during the day?
In your opinions does that sound like a good plan?
Reduce ropinirole during daytime first?
thank you

You can take it during the day while you have symptoms coming off ropinirole. Once off ropinirole for several weeks you will only have symptoms at night so can then take all at night 1 to 2hours before bedtime.
Wait until that time before increasing by 100 mg every 2 days until you find the dose that works for you.
Take it 1 to 2 hours before bedtime as the peak plasma level is 2 hours. If you need more than 600 mg take the extra 4 hours before bedtime as it is not as well absorbed above 600 mg. If you need more than 1200 mg, take the extra 6 hours before bedtime.
According to the Mayo Clinic Updated Algorithm on RLS: "Most RLS patients require 1200 to 1800 mg of gabapentin (200 to 300 mg pregabalin)."
If you take magnesium even in a multivitamin, don't take it within 3 hours of taking gabapentin as it will interfere with the absorption of gabapentin and don't take calcium within 2 hours for the same reason
