saw this trial for cannabis for pain in the paper thought i would sign up my interest . then i had a call filled in all the forms and was all set to be in the first hundred. then I found out my first session (tests) would cost £99. then the rest of the year will cost £299 per month(£3588). so being on benefits due to bad health i have had to decline. i have done quiet a few trials and they are free or you actually get paid this sounds like a con job even if its backed by the nhs. so please beware and read the small print. trials should be free.

Sounds a real scam.Is it really being promoted by the NHS or just gives you the impression that they are behind it.

Either way ,the NHS should be made aware of it. That is a ridiculous amount of money to be paying for an uncertified programme.

Thanks for the heads up!

I don't think that it has anything to do with NHS, I have had the same experience as kev60.Definitely a con!

This is not a con ,it really does cost that much money each and every month. Beware.

Don't know about that one but this is a genuine research programme, I've been on it for over a year. It won't suit people on benefits unfortunately but might help others. (Not true all trials are free, depends on type of trial.) You pay for the consultations then the prescription costs are capped at £150 per month, and in my case the meds cost £80 and last a couple of months. Still a substantial amount, obviously, but without the subsidy it could be well over £200. drugscience.org.uk/twenty21/

True. You get a small discount on your cannabis for being part of their trial. It is not cheap, but the cannabis I receive, is cheaper than on the street, so to speak, and is scientifically grown for medication not for recreational high. I pay about £200 per month for my cannabis and oil, and it’s changed my life from constant agony on 10-20 drs pills a day for 9 years, down to 5 pills a day now, and lot less pain. I ache still but don’t wake up swearing or tears in my eyes from the pain every morning! I don’t know how I afford it as on benefits but no price on pain relief!! My friends and family help me out as they are so happy I’ve improved. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it is my answer. Pills from the dr are free , if on benefits but they don’t do you any favours with all the side effects/ every day!!I’m amazed, and I’ve been smoking normal cannabis for 30 years. Medical cannabis is different. 👍

Glad you're benefitting from this, like me, but I have one quibble. What most people would understand by "cannabis without the high" is one that contains only CBD. But the type I get contains THC, which is psychoactive, and I believe everyone in this scheme gets that too. (CBD is available without a prescription, you can get it on Amazon.) Take a closer look at it. Or try a higher dose! (Joking, I get the impression you wouldn't want that.)

Hello, Yes, I had the same as you, saw something online about this trial & I was interested.

When they phoned me & told me the COSTS TO ME (trials are supposed to be FREE to the participants or the company pays the participants.

It is an absolute con, I don't think that it's anything to do with NHS)

One month of what they wanted to charge, I could probably get nearly one years supply of marijuina 🤭🤭.
