Chest pain

I’ve been having on-and-off chest pain for a couple of months on the left side of my chest, meaning I get sharp pains when I try to move and breath deeply from a couple of minutes to nearly an hour. I don’t know what to do/what has caused it so if anyone can help I’d be very grateful 😅

You go to see your Doctor. He will probably suggest ECG t check your heart is functioning.

Thank you for the suggestion - it just doesn’t appear to be related to my heart; my heart rate doesn’t change when it happens nor does the pain actually affect my heart specifically?

Maybe not but any chest pain, particularly on left side, should never be ignored

I agree, please go to see your GP, better to get it checked out. Take care Lynne

Agree have a chat with practice nurse she may be able to help if you feel that it not serious enough to see gp. At least you will get some advice.

Have a heart workup done first, then gastro workup.Even see a chiropractor. I had same stuff recently and mine turned out to be esophageal spasms. Thanks to my chiro..Im on supplements only and a lot of instructions for fod and etc. and Im feeling ALOT better, not cured but better.

Wow how did they figure out it was esophageal spasms?

My chiropractor did a test on me n found my stomach was sitting really high up against my esophagus n put it where it should be

Hello Bookworm000. Sorry to hear you’re having pain. I started getting those same sharp pains a couple of years ago. My doctor told me that sharp pains are usually an indication of anything serious however trust your own judgement and DEFINITELY go see a doctor. It could be Costochondritis or a GI issue. Either way consult a doctor for sure.
