Hi all, I am hopefully having a Steroid Injection in my ''Spine Back'' in the next Month or so. Can anyone Please tell me, after I've had the Injection, how long it would be, before I'm able to drive about 3miles home.?

Thanking you. Robbyp.

You may not drive for 12 hours after your injection. It is common to experience mild soreness at the injection site for 24–48 hours.

Best to taxi or get someone to drive you. If there is an incident the procedure prior to driving would invalidate your insurance. Safe after about 12 hours

When I had mine in January they wouldn't let me go unless they knew someone was picking me up.

As the others have said you will not be insured.

Hope the injections work for you, good luck

I had this procedure done didn’t work for me,however l had been warned that only one in three get any relief also if it did work it would only last nine months

Sorry it didn't work for you.

If they say it lasts 9 months then someone is being very optimistic. 4-6 is usual

My David gets his procedures every 6 months...they work well but he is always ready and waiting about a month before.

Hi robbyp I had to have someone take me and drive me afterwards as your not allowed to drive. The procedure itself is an absolute doddle, I was so worked up because of people telling me it was painful and uncomfortable. Where are you having it done? I had mine done I. Gainsborough and they were fantastic, the staff were very comforting and they made me a cuppa and a buscuit afterwards. The whole experience was lovely actually. I was less stiff after day 3-4 but it wasn’t successful for me unfortunately so I have to have another one in July.

I have had then and I’m not allowed to drive home. After the injection it sometimes feels sore for a few days, then then it works, well it did for me. The 1st time only for six weeks, the next one lasted about 18 months. When you are pain free try and strength you core muscles. Yep I know easy to say, when you can suddenly move my core muscles were the last thing on my mind.

Good luck, let’s us know how you;get on
