A referred pain is a pain that is tramsnitted from the main site of pain,

Say pain in neck is referred down the right shoulder, down arm.

You can also get referred pain form other parts of the system as I did when I had gaul stones the pain in my right shoulder was almost unbearable. I do not have a gaul bladder now so it can not be that,

Referred pain can come from all points of the body and will depend on the condition you have.

My memories of Gallstones was an experience I will not forget, they pushed pain medications and it did not touch the sides.

If you suffer type 2 you may need to call the GP tomorrow if you feel it needs attention

I have pain in my face but the source of my pain is the shoulder. I hope that now they know it's coming from somewhere other than your shoulder they will be able to help you to manage the pain better. This was the breakthrough that I needed to make things easier for me. Good luck
