Zopiclone for insomnia...

MarcusAntonius2002 profile image

I am in the middle of university exams and have been having periodic bouts of severe insomnia. Today, I had 4-5 hours of sleep before and exam because of it.

I have been prescribed zopiclone to help me deal with this, but I really don't like taking it, due to it being addictive and the horrific taste it leaves behind in my mouth.

Today, I took half a tablet and was able to sleep for 4 hours. When I woke up, I took another half, but what is typically an extremely strong medication completely failed to work. Amd I using it incorrectly?

I have been prescribed 3 tablets (with 4 more given today), taken over the course of 11 days. I am really trying to have good sleep hygeine (before yesterday slept without assistance for 5 nights in a row comfortably)

Am I doing something wrong?

Zopiclone is not prescribed for long periods. Only use it in accordance with the instructions you were given. Any issues, talk to your doctor or pharmacist or ring 111

Hi Marcus it's the attachment you put on sleep which becomes an anxious loop.ie don't get sleep tired worry about not getting sleep anxious.you take zopiclone 1 hr before sleep.when we have sleep disturbances sometimes our circurdium rhythm and homeastatic rhythm are out of balance.if you have the app headspace there is a good thing on there about sleep.its not just the sleep hygiene its your attitude towards sleep and how much you actually need.google sleepstation this is funded by nhs obviously postcode lottery.goid luck

You probably know this , but are you avoiding caffeine and alcohol in the evening and ensuring you go to bed with an empty bladder?

Good luck in your exams.

Sorry to hear you're struggling with insomnia during exams. Here are some suggestions:

Using Zopiclone: Be cautious with zopiclone due to its potential for dependence and side effects like the bitter taste.

Timing: Taking half a tablet in the middle of the night may be less effective. It's best taken before bed.

Sleep Hygiene:

Routine: Go to bed and wake up at the same time daily.

Relaxation: Read, take a warm bath, or meditate before bed.

Environment: Keep your room cool, dark, and quiet.

Avoid Stimulants: Limit caffeine and heavy meals before bedtime.

Stress and Anxiety: Techniques like meditation or talking to a counselor can help manage exam-related stress.

Medical Advice: If zopiclone isn't working or you're uncomfortable with it, discuss this with your doctor for possible adjustments or alternatives.

Safety: Always purchase medications from reliable sources to avoid counterfeit products and ensure your safety. As for me, I order medications only from reliable pharmacies, if anyone is looking for one, here is one of them: world-delivery-service.com For me, the most important things are the quality of meds and fast delivery that these guys have.

Good luck with your exams and improving your sleep!
