Has anyone managed to cover Endo through private insurance or at least get her hormones tested ?

yes, had a laparoscopy and ablation. Didn’t get hormones tested - for a consultation with the doctor, had a laparoscopy and had the endometriosis, fibroids etc removed.

I had my excision and laproscopy done through my private BUPA insurance, good luck!

I'm getting treating for it through AXA never got hormones tested but got consultation with the doctor and now booked in for the surgery to get it removed x

I was able to get appointments with a private gynae clinic (not an endo specialist) and an MRI, as I was undiagnosed at the time I started my claim. This was with AXA, as I had private insurance with my old job. AXA were a bit vague as to what they would fund beyond that because they class it as chronic, and did tell me that they wouldn't fund any endo specialist appointments (even with endo specialists who work with AXA). You still have to pay excesses, so make sure that you know in advance how much your excesses will be.

So in the end they didn’t cover anything is that right . ? I am with Aviva and they don’t cover chronic illness

Oh that is a shame 😔 yes, as to whether chronic conditions or some conditions named in the policy documents are covered is down to the individual insurer. You can try and see if Aviva's Digital GP service recommends some form of treatment for your endo, as sometimes insurers will fund it even if it falls under the chronic conditions criteria.

With mine, AXA initially wouldn't cover an MRI, but the doctor I saw on their Doctor at Hand service referred me for one, and they covered it.

my partner has good bupa insurance. They won’t obviously cover any of my fertility issues but they said they would cover the endo treatment. I had a private scan for fertility related issues that I paid for that showed adenomyosis and possible endo - so I chose a specialise and they said they’d cover me for a consultation, tests and anything they need to do. Very lucky. Much easier when you come with a diagnosis I think.
