secondary breast cancer

Has anyone had secondary breast cancer in the bones? I need some help and advice. I had breast cancer stage 3, 7 years ago. I’ve been having a pain in my bottom for a while. First I thought it was internal haemorrhoids but now it seems to be the whole left buttock and I am wondering if the cancer has now gone into my bones starting in my bottom/pelvis? Where does it normally start in the bones. Can anyone help me. Thank you

My friend had stage 3 breast cancer a few years ago and unfortunately hers has spread to the bones in her spine. I am sorry you are suffering . Have you told your doctor so they can arrange the necessary tests ? It may rule out anything serious.

Good luck

Hi there thanks for your reply I am sorry to hear about your friend. I don’t think my doctors take me seriously as I go quite regularly. But I will contact them again this week and perhaps I should ask for a scan to see if it has spread to my bones. Many thanks

yes, metastatic breast cancer can spread anywhere via the lymph nodes , the spine being a common site. It is very important to get a variety of scans asap . Early treatment is key. My lovely daughter is in late stages from a return of breast cancer. Hopefully, it won’t be that but better to find out quickly. Very best wishes.

Hi Maddie, great that you are being cautious and pray for you that it is just innocent pains 🙏

My sis had breast cancer and after 10 years they discovered it in her hip and spine, she is treated by medicine and they can keep it in status quo.

My best friend found out that she had breast cancer already spread to her bones, mainly in spine. What a nasty disease :(. I myself came out of ovarian cancer so nice trio we are …

Insist on further examinations !! And wish you best of luck for best news possible 😘🍀🍀🙏

Good your going to asked for tests. I had primary breast cancer in 2017 then I was told in 2020 I had secondary breast cancer .no one warns you after primary breast cancer that the csncer could come back . No one tells you the signs and symptoms to look out for and the annual checks they do for 5 years after only look at the breast and collarbone area. Please ask for a CT Body scan. My cancer has spread to my bones ,liver ,and lymph nodes. I have what they refer to as extensive bone metastasis . It's in my spine, coccyx and skull. Secondary breast cancer cant be cured but can be treated. I have been living with secondaries for 4 years. And on a really good treatment and although i get more tired and cant do as much as used to . I still have a quite a good quality of life. You are doing the right thing by insisting on tests to rule this out . Hoping you will be ok and the pain isn't caused by cancer. . Ps I didn't have any pain in my bones when I was diagnosed . Just found a lump in my neck and after tests found out it had spread to my bones as well as other places . Hopefully your pain will be caused by something unrelated to cancer. However you need to find out what it is and get it sorted. Good luck x

I had treatment for primary breast cancer last year and was then given letter detailing what signs and symptoms to watch for. GP practice given same letter. Sorry to read of your situation.

Hi Corrina thank you for sharing your story it must have been difficult when you received news that you had secondary breast cancer in 2020. You sound positive and it sounds like you have adjusted well. I have thought the same that mammograms won’t detect a cancer if it has spread anywhere else, they should really tell you this. I will arrange a full body CT scan. Thank you so much for you text and support I wish you well xx
