Do you shake your Trimbow?

Hi all. I’m being started on Trimbow - not optimistic, but I’ve said I’ll try it. However, I’ve got stuck at the first fence. My Ventolin says I must shake it before use; my Spiriva said I should not shake it; the Trimbow leaflet doesn’t say one way or the other. I’ve tried googling, and found some sites say shake, some say don’t - all reputable sites. So: do you shake your Trimbow? Or doesn’t it really matter?

I shake it. I can't see how it can hurt. :) They also say to keep the spare can in the fridge. Do not over do it above the recommended dose, it raises blood pressure, and then it's time for you to shake...

I recently started on trimbow, tastes awful but I do shake it . Leaflet no help so I rinse my mouth too after using. Told to keep unopened one in the fridge until first used. Hope it helps me get through the summer as I usually get very ill in July to Sept with asthma,

Having now started it, I’m with you on the horrible taste!

Thanks. Looks like the vote is for shaking…

I don’t have a spare canister yet, but I collected the first with my insulin, and will treat it the same way - collect in a cool bag, then store in the fridge with a fridge thermometer.

I always clean my teeth and gargle after using a preventer; I’ve been given an aerochamber to use with the Trimbow, too, so I hope that will help.

hi yes you must do it . Every day I shake trimbow first, always, 2 puffs in the morning and 2 puffs in evening. I’m so much better since I started with trimbow. All the best

my peak flow has increased considerably since moving to Trimbow. Lungs feel much happier.

I'd ask the person (doctor or asthma nurse) who prescribed it.

It was the hospital consultant, and it’s taken a month for the request to get to the gp, so I thought asking on here would be much, much quicker 😊

Thanks all.

I’m not optimistic, because the last time they tried a double inhaler with formoterol I had bad side effects and no improvement - but you never know, maybe the triple will do the trick 😊.
