HelloDiagnosed metastatic prostrate cancer in 2022. Had Radiation for prostrate and spine. Started on Lupron shot every 3 months along with Abiraterone Acetate 4 tablets nightly Prednisone 1 tablet daily in morning.

Side effects

Weight gain ( I watched my intake)

Anxiety/depression

Emotional breakdowns

Muscle loss

Memory fog

Fatigue

Not having any hot flashes lately

Penis shrinkage and girth

Testicles shrink

This has not been a easy journey.

I am on this

until February 2025. My PSA and testosterone readings are undetectable.

Thanks RWRB. The 2 biggest things I see are a loss of muscular endurance/loss (not fatigue) and weight gain. I'm trying semaglutide for the weight gain although it is early innings. I'm increased protein and use an EMS suit for resistance exercise. My doctors are really not a lot of help. Like you, I probably have about a year left on ADT assuming things hold as they have been. I'd like to come out the other side with enough fitness to attack the world again. On the penis stuff. I had an implant after my RP 20 years ago. That is a different story.

Glad you had implant. Right now hoping pumping will help. I see my Urologist next month so going to discuss penis issue.

That is great. BTW things haven't changed with some Dr not informing about meds. My Oncologist never said anything about all the stuff I could possibly go through. Not a fan of him. I stand my ground.

I'm using hormone therapy along with the knife and fork for weight gain. It's the weight loss I need help with

When I found out about weigh gain I was like oh hell no! I watch carefully what I ate. I was once 252 lbs years ago so I didn't want to head that way again. I always had a wanting for sweets now but I pushed it away. I would tell myself do you want to be fat again. Currently at 206 and hoping to get down in the 180's

My internist just started me on semaglutide for weight loss and to a lesser extent glucose control. Early innings.

Semaglutide should cause weight loss not gain.

Yes. I suppose I could have been more clear. I've gained a lot of weight and am using it to hopefully drop pounds.

OK. I lost about 30 pounds on Ozempic. Don't remember how long it took but it's pretty much stayed off.
