Hi, about to start week 3. Trying to lose the excess four stone I am still carrying. I lost one in the last five weeks and decided to see if running might help to keep up the weight loss. I certainly feel good about it so far.

Welcome. I’m hoping running will do the same for me. My lesson: I thought I was hungry and began overeating. I was thirsty instead!

Someone senior and grown up will probably pop up in a while and say that C25K isn't positioned as a weight loss programme and that the relatively short duration/distance runs we do (Short? Ha!) don't enable weight loss particularly.
Jay and I (at least I think) would offer a different view. I'm in W5, Jay's a proper grown up, but I've lost 2lbs every week so far. And I'm not hugely overweight (I don't think). That's 8 bags of sugar to date.
I'm pretty active, but apart from the three runs a week I'm doing no more than three leg/core strength sessions and a session on a bike trainer. Only 30 minutes a day for those.
It's the running that's made a difference. And I feel shed loads better. Well enough to spend hours typing on here! And the only eating problem I have is occasionally missing my mouth
Backing that up, I’m slowly losing weight. I lost 1kg just doing yesterday's run, but that was all fluid and I will have put that back on!
It is the old story - calories in vs calories out. Up your activity and you lose weight so long as you don’t simply eat more.

I’m trying to eat healthy and exercise too, to lose weight and hopefully keep it off. I am a teacher so I am on my feet most of the day and I walk the two miles to school and two miles back home everyday but now I run to school three mornings m. with a slight detour to fit it all in, and I am losing more weight. I would like to do some thing stretchy and some strengthening too but going to focus on this first then look for more.

I found I lost weight but not as much as I thought..then someone explained muscle weighs a lot also...and I suddenly realised I can see more of the floor these days when I look down

Hi Niki! Wow! A stone in 5 weeks is awesome! Are you on the NHS weight loss community too? They are also a nice bunch. Very supportive and I do a weigh in each week.
I spend more time over here, though. This lot have a better sense of humour! 😜

Check this out, even though you have begun
Well done you
Keep it slow and keep it steady...a healthy eating regime, linked with this is a win-win situation
