hello, I was running around 10 miles in my mid fifties following post surgical PE at 50. Covid in 2022 set off severe flare of Ulcerative Colitis (had since 25) and PE. Spent a year recovering started couch to 5k in January having built up fitness walking and cycling. Doing well then got knocked back with covid again, had antiviral treatment this time. Started back on day 1 of couch to 5km today 😊 not too breathless 😊😊

Hi Aclotintrainers, love your user name! It took me a moment to work out, then made me smile! Also love your positive attitude. You've gone through a lot but come back fighting! When I asked my consultant how to avoid another DVT, he said "keep active!". You're certainly putting that into practice. Running is not really my thing but I try to keep up my step count (up to minimum 9,000 a day) and take on tasks like gardening and housework with enthusiasm... most of the time! Luckily I live on a steep hill and put in some effort to walk up without stopping for a rest. This got tricky after my 2nd DVT but I'm back on it now.

Thanks for your upbeat post and the inspiration - good to read!
