People with disease or aliment including tinnitus is usually asked to be more relaxedHowever in my case the more relaxed I am , the louder the tinnitus is?

Especially in the early morning probably just out of deepest sleep, tinnitus is like an alarm, thats upsetting isnt it?

we’ll I wouldn’t say that one is at one’s most relaxed when first waking. You might have had bad dreams, be too hot, too cold …whatever.

I am being serious, maybe i got it wrong or misunderstood, sometimes for example even I am in good mood , just chilled and take a nap, then it seems louder , isnt it most tinnitus patient feel pretty much?Always we would be asked to distract at daytime, yes I can try, during sleep, we cant never 'concentrate'to sleep? Coz its another way around, we gotta be relaxed

This is the same for me as well .My tinnitus is very loud but during the day is manageable. At night it’s even louder and can only sleep with listening to music on the headphones. Early morning is the worst time and I think our subconscious dreams makes it worse

On the contrary. Change the way you think about and perceive Tinnitus. The problem is being caused by your emotional response and not the volume of your Tinnitus.

First of all, establish or eliminate anything underlying through your GP/ENT.

Then unless otherwise stated by a medical professional...

#1 Accept your Tinnitus is not going to stop.

#2 Accept there is no cure, or cure coming anytime soon.

#3 Accept that YOU CAN manage it through strategies, such as meditation and mindfulness, sound therapy and masking (not drowning it out) and medication to manage the depression.

#4 You will have good day and bad days. That's life and rewards come from overcoming challenges.

I agree - it's a paradox. If you have T you need to relax so T settles but it seems impossible to do so if you have T . This gets easier over time - if it's any consolation. You learn to relax with T more than you might think possible at the onset. Mine is always louder first thing or when I wake up after 40 winks. I don't think it's unusual.

Ive spoken to many people who's tinnitus is louder after a sleep or a nap. There are so many variations with tinnitus. It will also always seem louder when there is less sound around, ie bed time and when you wake. the tinnitus may be the same volume during the day but other noises around you maybe helping you lose focus on the T or help mask it a bit. Only you can know this.Overall though, reducing stress and relaxtion is the key to lowering the intensity of Tinnitus in almost all cases that I have come across.
