Folks, It is only two days until I go to Dublin for Stage 2 which they call the "fitment". I don't know why this is called such a dramatic name. It was described as a change to familiarise yourself with the technology. I have booked my flights and checked it. Good old Ryanair. Pre-booked my bus on the trusty Airhopper to the clinic.
It is reassuring that Ruddboy and Scarlet have also taken the plunge.
I am a little nervous as there are some reports that things may get worse before they get better. Having said that, I am still going to give in a go. I am trying to manage my expectations. If I am overly positive them I may be in for a fall. However, the placebo affect may be even more potent.
What is the alternative? I think that I have tried everything over the last few years. You all know how this awful condition messes with your world. I have read some moving accounts as to how people's lives have nearly been destroyed by T. My view is that it is a chance worth taking. I will give honest feedback in relation to my experience, should it be positive or negative .
In order to help with the fight against T, I am taking part in the 100miles Prudential Cycle Challenge. I am doing this to raise funds for the British Tinnitus Association. This is the only organisation that I know of who solely exists to get us back our silence. Several of you have donated already. It would be good if a few more chipped in.
For the cynical, if you donate via Just giving then the money goes direct to the BTA. I am convinced that some day T will end for us. For me sitting in a garden reading a book would be bliss!! Not being ratty and short-tempered would be a relief for my family.
Click on the link below or search for me on the Virgin Money Giving site. No amount is too small.
Another small point. Do you believe in karma? It was soon after that I agreed to do the 100 mile cycle for the BTA that I received the phone call from Neuromod.
