Hello,
As per my reply to another post earlier, the endo that I saw regarding adrenal insufficiency recently included a throw-away line in the subsequent letter to my GP recommending that the levothyroxine that I have been taking for 12 years be stopped. Unfortunately, the GP instantly removed levothyroxine from my repeat prescription list and will not add it back without the endo saying to do so. The endo is not responding to emails or calls, and nothing has come back via the endocrinology specialist nurse or the secretaries to the endocrinology team. My current supply of levothyroxine is going to run out soon. If there were justification for stopping it, then fair enough, but in that case it should be done after the adrenal insufficiency is addressed properly (there is a remote chance that mine is reversible, although I don't hold out much hope). What shouldn't happen is to stop levothyroxine, which could cause symptoms that could be confused with adrenal symptoms, with the risk that I go into potentially fatal adrenal crisis as the cause of the symptoms were unclear. If I cannot get a new endo before the current levothyroxine supply runs out, I want to be able to source some elsewhere for the time being. If anybody knows how to reliably source levothyroxine (I use Teva as I need lactose-free), could you private message me (not answer in the forum) please, as per forum rules.
Admin - I have read the post about sourcing from recommendations and avoiding scammers.
Many thanks
