You can get it from the Gut Trust ibsnetwork.org.uk, or type in Gut Trust on google and it will give you it. You need to join their membership and they will send you out an I can't wait toilet card for your wallet/purse, they will also give a booklet that has the I need to use your toilet in an emergency' in a lot of different languages so when you are on holiday you can show the card in their language. You can also pay £4 I think it is that amount for a Radar key, which is a key for the disabled toilets as some are locked and you can only access with the key, it is worth purchasing it.

I have had the I can't wait card for years, and it has got me out of many a sticky time,. Ihave diarrohea form of IBS, so I need to rush to the loo asap. I have knocked on peoples doors if I am out and there are no toilets in the areas. I must admit I have never been let down by the public when I need to cheat the queue, they fully understand, and the peoples doors have always been accommodating, to even offer me a cuppa. !

I always keep a spare pair of knickers in my bag, as well as toilet wipes, toilet roll, and heat pad (that I can connect to the cigarette lighter in the car, dont smoke so that lighter comes in handy when I have a flare up, and can sit in the car when the cramps come, and drive.

The card is worth its weight in gold, I would be lost without my one, and I am open about the fact that I have a bowel disorder and cannot wait so please can I use the toilet next.

I have used this card in Disabled toilets if there is no ladies toilets free and I need to rush, but I also wear breast prosthesis following double mastectomy, so I need to use the disabled toilets if my boobs become unstuck, (they stick on my chest wall with adhesive like a bandaid plaster), and I need access to a sink to rinse and restick, so this one day I was hot and they became unstuck so I went to the disabled toilet as there is a sink in there. But also because I had a IBS flare up, when I came out this woman in her 60's gave me such a row, she called the manager (It was in M&S), he came along and asked what the problem was, and she said this young lady (I am 46) used the disabled toilet and it is for us, I asked her what her disability was as she did not have any mobility problems or aids, she said it is for us the elderly, I said it is for people with a disability not age related.... she said well you should not be using it, I showed her and the manager my I can't wait card, as well as pulled my top down to show her my prosthesis, and I have a radar key, so she was very red in the face and appologised, I said dont judge a book by its cover and I wont judge you either, she just kept appologising and the manager asked me to come to the customer services desk and he gave me a £30 giftcard for my inconvenience and embarrassment on his store. It was funny afterwards when I thought of it, but it was so frustrating at the time that I had to rush back to the loo as the stress and anger gave me another flare up !!!!

hope this helps and you are not alone we fully understand your dillemas and your condition.

take care

xx
