Hi all, I have been "diagnosed" with IBS and after additional symptoms piled on just waiting results from the hydrogen breath test for SIBO as well (I am also hypothyroid/Hashimotos). I have a lot of standard GI type symptoms (feel full fast, constipation, belching way too much, boating, noisy stomach etc that has all gotten worse the last 6 months) but I also have other unconventional IBS symptoms like daily fatigue/fluish feeling, a weird head pressure most days so bad I don't want to engage, some tingling in lower legs and worsening night vision! I am working to get thyroid meds right, so some of my many symptoms could be from thyroid, but wondering if IBS or SIBO? folks experience any of these other "unconventional" type symptoms like the fatigue, ect? Thank you for any feedback. It's been a rough year.

Hello. It has been trial and error for me. Did the FODMAP. My Father always said ‘check out your last meal in the night, it is always the Food’. He was right. Avoid sauces, frizzy drinks, acidic food, fried food .. until you work out what affects you. I can eat cheese without a problem but not ‘cooked cheese’. So you see to begging keep a food diary it is worth it in the long run. Thyroid check might help.
Thank you Yannia I started a food diary just last week so am hoping that will help determine triggers. So appreciate your advice.
I notice you say you have constipation. I used to be more diarrhoea when I was younger but have got more constipation since getting older. What I have noticed with this is that it can make me more tired, gives me a bunged up nose and what I guess you would say was head pressure. I don't know if this will help!
Yes I appreciate your taking time to respond! I'm trying to take it all in stride and figure out the best approach but I also think my thyroid being out is playing a big part of it this is a double whammy! Thanks very much you are kind!
Hi have you been tested for h pylori??
Yes no h pylori thankfully!
Hi, i have only just been told i have ibs, although I'm still waiting for a colonoscopy to check things out more. I also suffer with tension headaches and pressure in my ears, I'm not sure if they are connected.
Interesting. Can I ask how was your ibs diagnosed?? Good luck w the colonoscopy those are no fun had one recently!
I have had issues with diarrhoea for years, but for a few months now i almost constantly have some kind of pain in my stomach and back. I had blood tests, stool samples and an ultrasound. Bloods were fine, stool samples showed inflammation and ultrasound showed a fatty liver. So just waiting to see if the colonoscopy shows anything.
Hi I have just posted about SIBO test, I have the same symptoms as you.
Did u do a home test or was it through the hospital
I really think I have it but it is so expensive to pay for and such a long wait at the hospital
