Hiya, I recently started to run to the loo a number of times a day, I had recently cleaned out the filters on my fish pond and wondered if I had caught something. I had a severe headache and aches and pains in my joints. I`ve really been feeling rough. I phoned our on line out of hrs help and they got a doctor to call me, she didn`t think it was the corona virus but told us to book a swab test which we did and it came back clear. It`s been 3 days of misery, the headache has lifted slightly but every time I try to eat something light the pains in my stomach and intestines start and I have to run to the loo ( more like a light colour water really) Do you think this might clear up on it`s own? our doctors is closed down but I might have to call for a telephone chat with a doctor. How long can an attack go on for would you think? I have only ever had diarrhea for two days in the past and it`s never been this uncomfortable. Thanks

If you haven’t already, I would phone your doctor. I would be very concerned about dehydration at this point. I hope today finds you feeling better!
Been to the doctors this morning and had a check over( in the car park:-0)
They don`t think it is very serious because my vitals all seem ok, they gave me a test kit that I am dropping back today and collecting a general antibiotic till they get the results back from the sample, Thanks
I’ve no idea OldTimer74, I’ve had diarrhoea for 6 weeks, I’ve had enough now 😢x
That sounds so awful. I hope the tests come back quickly and you can find out what’s causing it. Have you ever been ill after clearing out the filters in your pond before? It does seem like a strange coincidence....x
No that I can remember but the world has changed I`m afraid. Thanks
I don’t think the world has changed that much, that a pond filter would start to give out an infection 😊. It sounds more likely, unfortunately, that you’ve had food poisoning. Sometimes that can leave you with post-infectious IBS. The stool test will tell you - I really hope you’re ok and you find out soon. Hang in there xx
Sounds like some kind of infection. I would ask for a stool test.
Result came back CAMPYLOBACTER infection, from where I don`t know but the antibiotics are working. Thanks All for your replies. Dave
