Wondering if any of you had similar issues to me: Lately I’ve been having yellow mucus in my stool. Seems like usually it happens after eating. Almost immediately after eating I get a urge to go and when I do it’s yellow mucus. Sometimes I have none, sometimes it’s a little or sometimes it’s a lot (like today). When I wipe it’s just yellow (sorry tmi) not really sure what’s going on.. I’ve had a change in stool. There are days where it is perfect or most times it is loose stools. I don’t know if this is IBS or IBD related or something else? I have gallbladder problems so not sure if my GB is causing this. I had a colonoscopy scheduled for tomorrow but due to the COVID19 Outbreak here in the states I had to cancel :/
Anyone if these same issues? What was your outcome? Praying that is is nothing more serious. 🙏🏼

I am going through same at moment, I have had gall bladder flare, only a phone consultation with my GP but she believes from what I described it is Gall Bladder, it’s very worrying when you see these odd things, a nurse friend told me it’s ok, just cut back on fats & certain foods that irritate you G/B, I am waiting for a scan but that could be a long way off , sorry can’t give you answer take care
i have this and was told by Endo doc that it was Bile acid malabsorption . i had to give stool sample to be diagnosed . i was prescribed Questran [ a powder mixed with water ]
It is scary right? I’m glad I’m not the only one that worries when I see things like this. I’m thinking it’s a gb issue too. I just need figure out what foods help it. I see veggies and fruit help but I’ve been eating very little the last two days to avoid triggers so I’m kinda hungry! lol praying that we both get relief very soon!!
Hi I had my gallbladder removed approx 2 years ago and shortly after a yellow mucus got tested for bile salt malabsorption and this was what mine was .. ask for a SEHCAT test unsure if this can been done before gallbladder removal or after as mine was done after.
I can’t remember if I had the yellow mucus before my GB was removed though.
My problem is I guess somewhat sorted from the medication I have been placed on.
This may not be the same for you but it’s something you could ask your GP about.
Hi, thanks for the reply and the tip. I will definitely be asking my doctor about that. How has life been without a gallbladder? Doctors suggested to remove mine last year but I declined since I was able to manage symptoms..I’m afraid I might have to do it now since symptoms have returned a year later.
Hi life without my GB has been ok I’ve made changes but still eat relatively normal I went veggie three years ago this may or may not have helped. But I had the yellow mucus but this was 90% sorted when diagnosed and medication given. It is very rare I get flare ups.. maybe if I have overdone it with food occasionally but all seems pretty now under control .. I still have the right sided dull ache which is what made me originally do to my docs so when they said gallstones I was shocked but to be fair I would rather be gallstones that anything else. I would ask your GP about bile salt test it may answer some questions. Good luck with everything and if you need to ask anything else please do I can only give advice on how I have been but it may help thanks 😊
Hi thank you so much 😊 what is a bile salt test? Never heard of that. Crazy that even with gallbladder out you still have issues. I hate that doctors push to have it removed as if it’s going to solve all your issues. I’m trying to save mine. Just purchased some bile salts hoping to see some improvements as I have similar issues to you.
Not sure if you’re in the States but hoping your safe with all this covid19 outbreak. Can’t wait for it all to be over!
Good morning no I am from UK but live in Geneva for the last 8 months the situation here I think is similar to everywhere but fingers crossed things start to get better.
Bile salt malabsorption was what I was diagnosed with after having a SEHCAT test (apologies if spelt wrong) very simple pain free test. It is one of the problems that may/can occur after gallbladder surgery. The medication I now take relieves the yellow mucus problem to a huge degree .. but you have to massively cut out on fats and following healthy eating which is recommended anyhow after GB removal.
I still have all the IBS, pain under right rib, and flare ups but this has helped with one of the problems.
Speak to your GP hopefully they get you tested .. good luck with everything and stay safe
I'm going through this too, it has happened the past couple of days every day and I'm quite scared about it, I'm 17 and I hate that I have it cause it stops me doing things
