My Birth Story
I was given an
epidural
before starting the oxytocin and it was such a welcome relief. I felt like I could relax for the first time since this all started.

Message from the residential home for the elderly.
They had ruled out an
epidural
with me because of my spinal problems but said that they would do a ‘block’ through the top of the leg as well as a general anaesthetic.

2weeks after Hysterectomy
And have had terrible back ache, which I know can be
epidural
. Taking black goohosh red clover and evening p oil, but have woken this morning crying, and can't seem to stop is this normal as nothing has happened to trigger this off.

Knee Replacement
I had an
epidural
and sedation and knew nothing of the operation so I am relieved and confidant now that when I get my other knee replaced next year I will not be as stressed as it really was not as bad as I imagined.

Hi, has anybody else gone through pregnancy here with fibro??
That terrifies me as my previous 3 were natural births with the help for my back of an
epidural
. I must say though that up to now (around 16 wks gone i think) my pain has not yet worsened! (woohooo).

Knee Replacement
I have been told I will have sedation and a

as my neck is too bad for a general but my sciatica is playing up at present so will have to see re
epidural
on the day. Has anyone ha a knee replacement while awake/sedated and what is recovery like afterwards?

Good news from the front!
He is also recommending another MRI to establish the extent of the muscle and nerve damage and, possibly,
epidural
injections. I can't help but wonder if this would have been so bad if I had not refused the
epidural
at the time of my last op! Ah well!

My story
After approximately 15 hours of pain and slow labour I had an
epidural
. I was still only 3 centimetres dilated and eventually the
epidural
was topped up.

Newbie to the site but old hand at dealing with RA. This is my story...
I was examined and the doctor said it was just the
epidural
taking its time to wear off as the surgery had lasted over 8 hours. They got me up and walking with crutches but I still had no feeling whatsoever in my left leg.

Vasculitis reaction-couldn't move legs
My legs felt too heavy to move, in fact I had to move them with my hands, a bit like an
epidural
type feeling. Apparently a few hours before the attack my eyes were tremoring too. Though I was totally unaware of this at the time.

Tomorrow is the day!!
Tomorrow I shall be going into the day case unit at my local hospital to have my long awaited
epidural
and facet joint injections. Not really sure how I feel at the moment, I am really hoping that they work for me and ease the pain in my lower back.

What's up Doc??
Still waiting on appointment for
epidural
and facet joint injections, always think of Tricia on this one and what she's going through. I do hope they come through before Gyne one as I know you can get into some awkward positions on that operating table!!
