Itchy eyes
Hi when I got itchy eyes, I went to see an ophthalmologist who prescribed eye drops called Hayabak. They worked for me.
Mine, esp the right would water...used drops called Zadifor, over the counter, not prescription, and they worked! Check them out to see if they work for itchy eyes.
I don't remember my eyes itching. Could it be allergies? It's been a while since I was on Ibrance and Faslodex
Yes after being on the same drugs for 18months I have developed itchy eyes. Maybe it’s a slight allergy to something in the drugs. I don’t have it every day but my eyes lids top and bottom go very red when they itch. Hope this helps.
My eyes are itchy and watery on ibrance. But, I also have allergies. I think the ibrance is the culprit because my eyes bother me more now since starting it.I use eyedrops for dry eyes. I get them at the pharmacy over the counter.
Hi there, sorry to hear you are having this problem. I had this too when I was on Ibrance and Letrozole. I used over the counter eye drops, Optrex, and it did help.
I used letrozole for about 11 years; am on ibrance for almost 3 years now. I have not noticed any greater eye itching or dry eye. However, I always have had dry eyes and eye irritation; I just use over the counter drops as needed after talking with my eye doctor about it. Good luck...hope it goes away for you, or at least that you can find something that helps
Yes and watery eyes, too. right more than left. I wondered if it was just seasonal allergies. My eyelashes are so light that I need mascara, but it pretty much rubs or washes off during the day, so I often just don't use it.Ann
Thanks everyone. I‘ll try to hydrate more and use some over the counter drops.
I have itchy eyes and they are swelling. I have thought it was allergy but never thought it could be from the meds. Do your eyes swell??
Please do not rub your eyes. You could scratch or scar your cornea. I recently had to have a cornea transplant due to so much scar tissue. Try using over the counter Systane. It might be a little more expensive than the regular eye drops; however it is preservative free. Sounds as though you have dry eye.
Both drugs are drying..skin, eyes, etc. when your eyes are dry, they overcompensate and produce more tears. Over the counter medications for dry eyes are helpful, but don’t get the kind for allergies or red eyes. My eye doc says the plain dry eye drops work the best.
I was put on Ibrance and Letrozole in December last year and as of June this year my eyes have been a problem. Red and they drip. Big tears that roll down my cheeks. I am rubbing them and wiping them constantly. The condition gets better for a time and then I go through this scenario again.
So, in July I saw the optometrist who said it was dry eye. Treatment for dry eye did not help. I saw the opthamologist 2 weeks ago and he said the eye ducts were not plugged as they would be in dry eye. He flushed them and they were clear. He said he had no idea why my eyes bother me. I asked both doctors whether it could be the cancer drugs and neither seemed to know. I am convinced it is the drugs and have read of other women experiencing this. It is very annoying though and it is hard to read.
Hi Kaydub, I have that too and use Over the Counter eye drops. I think in part it is from thinning eyelashes and in part from dryness. I try to remember to wear sunglasses when I go out.Feel better.
i use OTC eyedrops throughout the day and a thicker formula at night. the ophthalmologist reminded me to blink more frequently, to increase natural tear production.
My eyes did and still do itch.My opthamologist put me on different drops and now I use Restasis twice a day and regular eyedrops too. The itch is not completely but mostly gone.
