One of our allotment friends has gone to Spain for two months and suggested we cut their flowers. Think I would rather have the flowers than travel to Spain right now.
A blast of colours.
Happy weekend ladies

Just beautiful Cheryl. They will brighten your days during the rainy weather and lockdown. I’m with you on not travelling to Spain right about now.
Clare x
Clare they are absolutely beautiful. I have three vases full. Weather has been nice today but cold. Tomorrow supposed to be dry but from Monday it’s all change. Never mind. Maybe I will do some research on Christmas gifts. Best I can do on a rainy days.
Take care
Cheryl
Absolutely beautiful!!
Gorgeous! Here in Iowa, we not only have Dahlias, but we have autumn trees!
They are also pretty. The changing colours are beautiful in the leaves🌺🌳
They are lovely!
Gosh that are beautiful. Just what we need on a dreary day on lock down.
Cheryl,
We can always count on you to brighten our days with your beautiful pictures! The whole notion of "allotments" was foreign to me before learning about them from you and others in this community....I think it's just wonderful!
I was hoping to be able to post a pic of my "bumper crop" of herbs in pots this summer but, sadly, did not have any "crops" let alone "bumper ones"! I'd be lucky to get a teaspoon of pesto from my three basil plants, and my mint withered and died! Like, who can't grow mint?!? In my past life ("up north") my struggle with mint was about keeping it from taking over, not keeping it alive!
Oh well! So I don't have a green thumb (at least not in the Dallas heat!). At least I get to garden vicariously through you and the other gardeners on this board!
Thanks for sharing!
Lynn
Last year we had no luck with herbs Lynn. This year the Parsley, Coriander and Sage went mad. We had an early summer. Think our seasons are just as confused as us.
Maybe next season your herbs will grow better.
Cheryl, the flowers are beautiful! Think of all the money you could save by not going to Spain. You could invest some in plants and seeds and equipment for the allotment and post pictures next spring/summer of the results. 😁💕
Precisely my thoughts. I’ve been looking already. Can’t wait for next season now.💐🌹🌻
We can look forward to you posting photos here next season too. 😁 BTW we lived in Warsaw, Poland for four years from 2006-10. Loved it. xx
I really miss going. We were visiting Kraków twice a year. People are so friendly and everything is half the price of the UK. Our neighbours are Polish but went back home to Kraków as they were worried about Brexit. They were a lovely family and she has been back and visited us this year.
Hopefully next year we can go again.
Pleased you like Warsaw. Steeped in beautiful buildings.
Ah yes, Krakow is a wonderful (walkable) city. Pre-Covid if friends were looking for a long weekend city break it was the place I always recommend. Steeped in history, the salt mines, the markets and al fresco dining and an abundance of berries and fresh fruit in the summer months. Friendly people and delicious food! We went on a family holiday there a few summers ago and I’ve been to the Christmas markets. I know why you are attracted to the place.
I am sorry your neighbours felt the uncertainty of Brexit led to their departure from the UK. We live in such uncertain times exacerbated by Covid ☹️
🤞 for your visit next year 😁
We always go to the market and buy Cherries and Greengages in the summer months. The fruit and veg is delightful. So many places to eat and drink as well. Oh the cakes are out of this world.
Favourite Restaurant was called Podwale konpania Piwna. Oh boy, the food was delicious. We queued for ages but it was worth waiting for.
We went from Warsaw to Kraków first class on a wonderful old fashioned train. Velvet seats. It cost about £17 each. It was snowy and beautiful.
Can only dream right now.
Take care
Cheryl
❤️❣️
Stunning flowers!
A welcome burst of color! Thanks for sharing.
Wow 😯!
Hi Cheryl,
Thanks for sharing such a stunning picture! It's beautiful. I hear you about not wanting to go to Spain, not the way things are at the moment. But your post reminded me of my holiday in Spain in October 2017. It was 5 months before my diagnosis, so I look back on that trip as my last "precancer" holiday. Of course, the cancer was there at that time, but I didn't know it yet. Sometimes I think ignorance is bliss, but then I have to remind myself that if that was really the case I probably wouldn't be here right now.
Sophie 💐
So right Sophie. We had our break in Poland just before my diagnosis. I’m so pleased I didnt know then.
Lovely pic. I need to get my grand daughters to show me how to put a picture on a post. Fay!
You must Fay. You can only download one at a time but it’s worth it to brighten us up. X
Thank you...how lovely
Thanks for the beautiful flowers!
That photo, and those flowers are sooooo beautiful. The beauty of the flower's won't last forever , but that photo could last forever framed on my wall. I have pollen allergies , and therefore I have invested in some really beautiful fake flower arrangements . They are in every room in my house, and I also have quite a few framed flower photo's on my walls.
