Hi Barbara - Very best wishes to you and my thoughts will be with you tomorrow. If/when you are able to, would you mind sharing some more info re: your trial? My sis has 3N MBC (mine in ER/PR+), so I would love to share any info with her. I will, of course, google it, too...Best, Lynn
Good luck Barbara. My cancer had spread to the liver and i was put on ibrance and letrozole but we found after 5 rounds it wasn't really working. Some tumors had shrunk a little but one grew 25%. I had 5 tumors. I started a trial through UCLA and after only 8 weeks of treatment all of he tumors are gone. You could have knocked me off the chair i was sitting on. I was hoping they would at least be stable or maybe shrunk some but for them to be gone was amazing. My regular oncologist was on vacation when the results came in so i can't wait to talk to him. The drugs I am on are Affinitor (which is the trial), Ribociclib and Exemestane, I will say that within the the last few weeks the fatigue has kicked my butt. I get winded taking a shower. I am bummed because i had been doing well and even continuing to work out.
Unfortunately until you’re body gets use to the drugs you’re going to feel bad. You will start to get your energy back. Remember your on strong medicine. May I ask what kind of cancer you have? Thanks and good continued luck.
Of course but i am not one of those women that pay attention to the technical stuff. It was breast cancer (HER2+) i had a bilateral mastectomy and chemo. 4 years later it moved to my hip. Had some surgery to support the area and the radiation. I was on Faslodex which kept me clear for 11 years. They found the liver mets in August last year.
I had mets to liver but the Doxil knock on wood seems to have cleared it up for now. Remember the Liver will grow back if they need to remove some. I wish you the best of luck. The problem with lung mets makes it hard to do simple stuff. We are going on vacation in July and I pray I can make it through Atlanta Airport. It’s hard to go through when your healthy. Keep me posted I will pray for your health.
Thanks Clair and good luck with your trip. My son is getting married this weekend and would like to be able to shake a leg - haha - but its so tiring. My prayers are with you as well.
Shake a leg for me too. I’m glad you’re son is getting married, wish mine would. I know this is so hard, Just do what you can and do the best you can. You will have a great time!
Dearest Barbara! Praying right along with you! My sister was diagnosed with triple negative about five years ago; so far no recurrence. So, I pray for her, too! May your new meds keep you healthy for many years to come!! XXOO Linda in Seattle
