I had DCIS as well. It was good that your surgeon removed it quickly.

Hi there- was yours a positive experience? And how have you been since?

It was stressful but I worked as an oncology nurse many years ago. I had radiation and now on Tamoxifen. This is the standard of care for DCIS Estrogen receptor positive.

The prognosis is good. Just need to keep following up with my oncologists.

Last June on a Monday found out it was BC. The next Monday lumpectomy and one lymph node. The following Monday onco said now your cancer free. 7 months later after chemo and seven wks of radiation I’m still stunned. Taking letrozole for old ladies but still in denial. But I am a survivor and a warrior. Scared and sad some days BUT ALWAYS GLAD TO BE ALIVE. Still in transition emotionally. The club you never wanted to join, yet filled with caring warriors. Sending many hugs ❀️

Thankyou for your words of encouragement πŸ’ž I feel so blessed to have this level of support xx somebody once told me "you never know how strong you can be until strong is the only option you have" and those words have stayed with me for years and are now keeping me going until this inconvenience is complete πŸ†πŸ†πŸ’

my otherwise very healthy 89 year-old mother is scheduled for a lumpectomy on 2/24. After her very positive visit with the "team" she is saying she doesn't want radiation. She has always had a proactive healthy eating/living routine and is on no meds (except occasionally as needed).
