Hair after chemo

Hi guys,

Well I had my last chemo mid October and my hair has slowly started to grow. I’m sporting a VERY short pixie. I’m happy with the growth but have noticed that my hair came back baby fine. It’s very straight as before but it reminds me of baby’s hair. I’m sure it will thicken as it grows. I am worried because next week I meet with my oncologist and I know she’s going to start me on anastrazol 🤦🏻‍♀️I’m dreading it so much. I hope this pill doesn’t affect my hair growth and I hate brining it up to my doctor because I know what she’s going to say 🤦🏻‍♀️ But I’m going to bring it up anyway because even though it may seem like a silly thing to doctors to me hair is very important. No one at work knew what I was going through but once the chemo took my hair everyone knew! Strangers on the bus. I’m such a private person and it was hard for me. Of course I’ve adjusted and I finally got my wig down (it took like 5 wigs).

I do have a question for you ladies who’ve gone through this, how long did you wait before you colored your hair? And have you noticed your medication contributing to the quality of your hair?

I have been taking Anastrazole for 9 months and it has not affected the regrow the of my hair. Initially it was fine but is now thicker. I haven’t coloured my hair because I’ve chosen to keep it short and My hairdresser said would need to dye it constantly cos of roots. Maybe ask your hairdressers advice. My first trip to the hairdresser after treatment was such an exciting one, felt like I’d got ‘me’ back. X
