Dysphasia cookbooks

Have any of you tried one of the dysphasia cookbooks that are out there? What are your thoughts? Barry’s swallowing is becoming much more difficult, and I am finding less and less things he can handle—yogurt, a few soups, and ice cream. And Boost, of course.

I have three dysphasia cook books, tried the recipes and found them helpful. Smoothies are great too. If you would like me to mail them to you you can PM me on this site and I’ll send them on to you.

Good luck🙂

Thanks, Caroline. Don’t know where you are; I am in Texas, USA. I don’t mind buying them. Do you have one or two that you particularly like and would recommend?

Hi WindyGirl

My Margaret is on puréed food now but we have not tried Dysphasia cook book. I just make meals like stews, pies etc. (vegetarian and meat) present them on Margaret’s plate to make it look like a normal meal then blitz them in a food processor before she eats. The meals can be very tasty not just bland bought in food.
