As UK expats who have been happily settled in Spain for 13 years now, I was rather taken aback last night at reading the news on Brexit. The article said that, if there was a no deal Brexit, there would be no more funding available for health care for UK nationals abroad. With all the medication Ian takes and the increasing demands for care, I am wondering what the future may hold. Will we be forced back to the UK? I do hope not. This is very much our home. Hoping it is just scaremongering.

What a good thing I have a secure Hope. Living a day at a time really is the only way to survive, on so many levels.

I saw that too, although it won't affect us (hubby is french) but I do know a lot of expats here in France who would be affected. And the stupid thing is if they all go back to the UK , it would cost the NHS much more ! Maybe they'll find a solution quickly, I do hope so as it's a lot of worry for lots of people.

hugs from france

It's a worry living in the UK too. The funding here for the NHS is totally inadequate. At least in France and Spain their health services are good. To think the NHS used to be the envy of every country? Very sad times we are living in.
