Sonika I recently broke my wrist and found it really difficult to brush my teeth! Then I remembered I have an electric toothbrush which I keep forgetting to recharge. That did the trick!

You can also use small brushes which go between the teeth to remove any food or use flossing tape to do the same job? However you would have to do it for him or someone else who cares for him could do it.

Finally if you are in the UK you can get the dentist to visit him. Don't know about other countries.

I brush my wifes teeth using a soft baby brush and then use swabs dipped in mouthwash

Our speech language pathologist recommended something that was available through medical supply stores, and possibly pharmacies. It was some sort of swab.

We use a child size electric toothbrush. Easier for my mother in law to fit it in her mouth.

My husband couldn't spit so with him lying down on his bed I use a baby toothbrush dipped in mouthwashed, and wiped with paper towel immediately , then with the oral swab dipped in mouthwash cleaned on top of his mouth and tongue , circle the swab around his mouth ( behind teeth) top and bottom and with a piece of paper towel wiped all residues. Speech Therapist said to do this 4-5 times/day, but I only did it 2X.

Hi

Agreeing with all above.

Do get a dentist in. Ask him/her about a fluoride treatment. This treatment takes a few seconds. They swab something onto the teeth. Our dentist said it builds up the enamel and would help her when she could no longer have her teeth brushed. The other thing we use is a good mouthwash. It will slow down any decay.

Good luck.
