Radio 4 today CHC funding

Dear All

For members in England - I have just caught the end of a Radio 4 Moneybox programme on CHC funding. It went out at 15.00 today and runs 30 mins with representatives from CCG , lawyer and Beacon. You can listen on Radio IPlayer or via the BBC website.

Hope it maybe helpful to someone I plan to listen this evening!!

It told us all the things we know already , that it is a post code lottery , inefficient , made to be as difficult as possible to apply and get it , illogical in its application , designed to send all those who are applying round the bend as they try to look after their partners and jump through impossible hoops . I listened and phoned in but didn’t get on the program but I was shouting at the radio quite a lot .

I do agree I was so pleased to hear CHC being talked about on radio excitedly posted - should have listened through first!!

When I first approached GP, District Nurse and social worker not one of them knew about CHC!! So even if we learnt nothing new hopefully it was an introduction to others.

Just listened to the programme. Confirmed it is a post code lottery it also seems to be a lottery as to which healthcare professionals you deal with. Some are helpful many are not. Been CHC funded for over five years now but still live in fear someone may come along and pull the plug.
