Over the next few days, the banner that you see at the top of the page - which is our old PMRGCAuk branding and artwork - will be replaced with the new branding introduced during the last 12 months.
It will look a bit different at the top of the page but it will be the same forum as always, so please don't think that you have arrived in the wrong place. I've attached an image above of what it will look like but if you are familiar with our website pmrgca.org.uk or our Twitter account twitter.com/PMRGCAuk or Facebook page facebook.com/pmrgcauk then it will look very similar to those.

I have to say - I agree with prunus after a full day on the forum. Having that flash up everytime I load a post/reply is becoming very uncomfortable. Would be interesting to know what GCA patients think of it - or anyone with any visual problems.
‘Tis slightly on the bright side I agree, but for me that’s a bonus. At least I can distinguish between lettering and background which is usually my gripe!
With the work PMRpro does for all of us I think every consideration should be given to her. Maybe up until your very unfortunate loss of sight you had perfect vision throughout your life? For people who have had poor vision all their life looking at a screen can be a stressful exercise in itself.
I do give her every consideration - and respect - and she knows that. You may have taken umbrage at my remarks, and I’m sorry about that, but I’m sure she didn’t (if she had, I would know!) ..
…PMRpro knows my sense of humour - but I know not everyone does.
It wasn’t made or received in that way as you can see from PMRPro’s response.
There are things you can say to some people that you can’t to others…
If you read any of my posts/replies a lot are me taking the mickey out of my own sight loss - so I am well aware of the issues - but that doesn’t mean I underestimate the problems other people have.
It's fine - we know each other pretty well! Somewhere else you will see we are joshing about a death pact instead of spending 40 hours in A&E! Piglette is bringing the wine
Too vivid for me. But I’ve always liked more subdued colors.
As Fran_Benson explains it’s on PMRGCAuk’s Facebook and twitter accounts and on members magazine….so it’s was obviously considered appropriate at the time.
I am reminded of my poor, shivering wife in the cold pool with our 4-year-old niece with blue lips, who would say, "Relax. You'll get used to it!" I like the Blue to Aqua idea and I have to say that I really like the layout. A huge improvement! GCA here.
I used to like the illustration of a (shoulder) joint on the old banner. I identified with it somehow! But I think the new banner is more positive especially for new people looking for a forum. The one thing I would say is that I don’t think the lettering is very clear - but then my eyesight is bad….cataracts and AMD….
Overall a better banner for the charity, if less so for this forum 😊
