GERD very similar to GORD - also Acid Reflux -

Acid reflux and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) are closely related, but the terms don't necessarily mean the same thing. Acid reflux, also known as gastroesophageal reflux (GER), is the backward flow of stomach acid into the tube that connects your throat to your stomach (esophagus).

Hope you get better soon...I remember a short spell of GERD when I was younger..but not young! I did get it under control quite quickly, omeprazole & Gaviscon, & haven’t suffered since....it was about 30 years ago now!

Hope you're feeling better. I've had esophagitis several times and it's very painful. GERD, hiatel hernia, reflux all led to esophageal dysmotility, so very important to treat it aggressively. Finally very successfully got it under control and reflux well managed with Dexilant. Very expensive rx but much more effective for me than omoeprazole (prilosec). Pharmaceutical company has a very generous "helping hands" program to greatly reduce cost. Best wishes to you.
